29 Jun AGM – A Great Meeting
Gillingham Chamber of Commerce were recently welcomed to the Jubilee Room at Gillingham Town Council for their 2017 AGM.
Reports from the Chair and the Treasurer were upbeat and positive and shows a thriving and varied membership. Our public persona was growing with the advent of our embracing modern social media and our support and attendance at various community events.
Having had a successful year, the existing officers had been persuaded to stand again for their positions. This allowed proceedings to flow smoothly and all officers were elected un-opposed:
Chair: Lucy Milton-Downes
Vice Chair: Sharon Cullingford
Treasurer: Rob Setchell
Secretary: Julie Cousins
Our officers take on a lot of work on behalf of not just the Chamber but in the local community. They are supported by a dedicated wider committee from the current membership.
The 2017 Committee members are:
Cllr Barry Von Clemens,
We also have a dedicated membership team consisting of:
Rob Setchell (Dorset Chef) firstname.lastname@example.org
Fran Hill (Gillingham & Shaftesbury Guide) email@example.com
Coleen Cahill (East West Design) firstname.lastname@example.org
Jenny Trim email@example.com
Please feel free to approach any of them if you would like more information on the Chamber or about joining.
The AGM was followed by a short committee meeting where we began planning the coming year. In particular 2 big events; one in October and one in early December so look out for information on these in the next few weeks. We hope to involve the public as well as members in these events so we could be calling on you soon.
In the meantime, it is not too late for you to get involved particularly if you have a small business. We would love to meet you and see what we can do for you. Our membership forms can be found on our new look, contemporary website designed by eastwestdesign.co.uk
In keeping with our new modern look, we now have a twitter account @GDCC2015 and a facebook page @gillinghamchamberofcommerce . Please pop over and follow us and let us know who you are so we can support you and your business.
